HILLSBORO, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's track & field senior
Malia Heien capped off her regular-season career with another award on Monday, when the Northwest Conference office announced she was voted the Northwest Conference Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week (SAOW) award.
Heien took home her fourth career NWC SAOW honors, and second of the season, after posting a pair of top-70 marks in NCAA DIII at the Larry Byerly Invitational.
The senior placed third out of 69 runners in the 800M, when she recorded a season-best time of 2:13.91. Heien finished with the best time by an NCAA DIII runner in the event by nearly eight seconds. Her time put her in first in the NWC this season by 2.5 seconds and 43
rd in NCAA DIII.
She also anchored the 4x400M Relay Team. The River Otters quartet placed third out of 10 teams with a season-best mark of 3:58.38. They are the first NWC team to break four minutes this season and they moved up to 66

Heien enters this weekend's NWC Championship Meet seeded first in the 800M, second in the 1,500M and first in the 4x400M Relay.
