MONMOUTH, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College track & field posted four top-10 marks and two top-50 times in program history, during an abbreviated Day One of the John Knight Twilight Meet.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Friday's action was cut short due to a lengthy lightning delay that caused an hour-long stoppage. After action resumed, a second lightning delay forced the rest of the events to be postponed until Saturday.
Junior
Keegan Zaso posted a top-55 mark in NCAA DIII in the triple jump and senior
Malia Heien finished first among DIII runners in the 1,500M to lead their respective teams.
MEN'S RECAP
Zaso and senior
Jon Fritz each finished in the top-10 in the triple jump. Zaso leapt a season-best 13.76M (45-01.75 Feet) to place seventh out of 28 jumpers. His distance moved him up to 53
rd in NCAA DIII and was the top mark by a DIII competitor in the event. Fritz came in just behind Zaso in 10
th place. The senior launched himself 13.38 (43-10.75 Feet). Sophomore
Kristopher Adams posted a mark of 12.03M (39-05.75 Feet) to finish in 20
th place.
Junior
Harrison Fung added a top-10 showing in the 400M Hurdles. Fung made his return from an injury to place sixth out of 29 runners. He notched a time of 55.70 to finish first among NCAA DIII hurdlers.
Senior
Andrew Baum led Lewis & Clark's two throwers on Friday. Baum launched the hammer 45.16M (148-02 Feet) to finish 11
th out of 45 throwers.
First year
Cody Strozyk placed 13
th out of 28 competitors in the javelin. He recorded a throw of 51.48M (168-10 Feet).
Senior
Jordan Lahusky led a quartet of sprinters in the 200M. Lahusky recorded a season-best time of 22.67 to finish 25
th out of 93 runners. First year
Forrest Holt finished in 38
th place with a time of 23.08. Sophomore
Jaden Mwendapole came in just behind Holt with a mark of 23.77 to place 62
nd. First year
Enzo Murray notched a time of 24.31 to finish 79
th.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Heien led a trio of River Otters in the 1,500M. She placed 10
th out 51 competitors, and first among DIII runners, with a time of 4:48.77. Fellow senior
Miriam Reside placed 23
rd in the event when she crossed the line in 5:08.30. Junior
Maeva Conroy notched a PR time of 5:24.79 to come across in 5:24.79. Lewis & Clark assistant coach and alum
Riley Buese ('25) won the event in 4:38.23.
Sophomore
Lillian Besa led Lewis & Clark in the hammer. Besa tossed the hammer 39.13M (128-04 Feet) to finish 14
th out of 39 throwers. First year
Ky Roussin placed 32
nd with a throw of 31.43M (103-01 Feet).
First-year
Sofia Figueroa posted a top-25 mark in program history in the 400M Hurdles. Figueroa registered a PR time of 1:10.90 to finish 15
th out of 22 competitors. Her time puts her in 23
rd in program history. Junior
Carolyn Mayberry notched a time of 1:12.39 to place 17
th.
Senior
Elsie Chin notched a top-15 marks in program history in the 200M. She placed 18
th when she crossed the line in 26.45. Her time moved her up to 12
th in program history. Fellow senior
AJ Schroeder posted a PR time of 30.67 to finish in 46
th place.

Anli Davis represented Lewis & Clark in the triple jump. She finished 17
th with a leap of 10.05M (32-11.75 Feet).
Senior
Reilyn Sabado was the lone River Otter in the javelin. She launched the implement 26.69M (87-06 Feet) to finish 27th.
