HILLSBORO, Ore.—After putting together a phenomenal week in the circle, Lewis & Clark College softball senior
Maggie O'Leary earned her third career Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Week Award, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
O'Leary earned her first NWC Pitcher of the Week award since her sophomore season when she won the award two times. She is the first River Otter to be recognized this season and the first since junior
Makena Dahir was recognized on March 18, 2025.
Facing the toughest stretch of their conference season, O'Leary factored into all five of Softball's wins against 2025 NWC Tournament Teams Pacific Lutheran University and George Fox University. The senior went 3-2 with two saves and posted a 2.21 ERA across 31.2 innings pitched. She struck out 26 batters and held opposing hitters to a .228 batting average.
After taking a loss in the opening game against PLU on Wednesday, O'Leary played a role in helping Lewis & Clark sweep the Lutes on Thursday to split the four-game series. She threw a complete-game in game three and struck out a season-high eight batters in a 5-4 win. The Washington native came on for the seventh inning of game four and threw a 1-2-3 inning to pick up her first save of the season.
O'Leary was even more dominant in a series win over George Fox University on Saturday and Sunday. She allowed one unearned run over her first 17 innings in the series and pitched 20 out of the 30 innings for Lewis & Clark.
The senior ace opened the series by limiting George Fox to four hits and one unearned run in a 5-1 victory. She came on in relief in game four and threw the final five innings and did not allow a run, in a 4-3 (10-inning) win over the Bruins.
O'Leary would add her second save of the week in game three on Sunday, when she struck out four over two scoreless frames in a 13-10 win. She would start game four and took the loss, despite holding the Bruins to one run through the first four frames. Her game four start was her 100
th appearance in the circle for Lewis & Clark.
