HOW IT HAPPENED
Campanella hit a three-run homer in both games and Lewis & Clark held off a late in rally in game one, and executed a rally of their own in game two. The junior designated player hit her team-leading fourth and fifth home runs, to make the most of her two hits on the day.
Senior
Maggie O'Leary had a big day in the circle. She threw a complete-game in game one and retired the Lutes 1-2-3 in the seventh of game two to pick up her first save of the season. O'Leary allowed seven hits, three walks and four runs (three earned) and struck out eight over eight innings of work.
With the two wins, Lewis & Clark earned a series-split and their first road doubleheader sweep of the season.
GAME ONE RECAP
Lewis & Clark jumped out to a 3-0 lead after just four batters and held off a late Lutes charge to earn their first win of the series.
Seniors
Madison Scroggins and
Lacey Marglin led the River Otters with three hits apiece. Scroggins chipped in a run scored and Marglin drove in one of the five Lewis & Clark runs.
First year

In the circle, O'Leary went the distance to pick up her seventh win of the year. The senior allowed seven hits, three walks and four runs (three earned). She posted a season-high eight strikeouts in the win.
Lewis & Clark jumped off to a hot start against Pacific Lutheran starter Rachel Treves. First year
Kodie Ancheta laced a single to center and Scroggins beat out a bunt single to put two on with no outs. After an
Emily Patton sac bunt, Campanella drove a fly ball over the left-field wall to make it 3-0.
O'Leary retired the side in order in the first inning but ran into trouble in the second. Lex Ahlo-Garcia hit a one-out, solo home run and PLU cut the deficit to 3-2 with an Alexa Saladin RBI triple.
The River Otters added key insurance runs in the third and fourth innings.
In the third, Campanella reached on an error and was replaced on the basepaths by first year
Nalana Warfield. Fortuno followed with a single and both first years swiped a bag on a double-steal. Marglin made it 4-2 with an RBI single to right field.
Senior
Gina Ozuna started a rally in the fourth with a one-out, hit by pitch. With two down, Scroggins singled to left and Patton came through with a double down the right-field line to plate Ozuna.
The hosts cut the deficit to 5-3 in the fourth inning on an Alyssa Fiero RBI single with two outs.
After being held to one baserunner in the fifth and sixth innings, Pacific Lutheran put together a rally in the seventh. With one out, Paola Garcia singled and moved all the way to third base on an error. Kaya Collado made it a one-run game with an RBI single and Kamalani Doctor followed with a double to right field to put two runners in scoring position with one out. O'Leary settled in and induced a pop up to shortstop and a groundout to second to seal the win.
GAME TWO RECAP
Lewis & Clark jumped out to another early lead, but found themselves trailing 4-2 heading to the final frame. The Lutes seemingly stemmed the momentum when they threw out a runner at home plate for the second out of the frame. Pacific Lutheran went back to their ace Maiya Anderson for the second time in the series. After limiting Lewis & Clark to one run on two hits in game one, the River Otters posted six hits, four walks and a hit by pitch and came through with a pair of home runs to hand Anderson her first loss of the year.

Ryan Jurischk (1.1 innings) each allowed two earned runs. O'Leary threw a perfect seventh innings to earn the save.

Dahir opened the second inning with a solo shot to center field to give Lewis & Clark a 1-0 edge.
The River Otters made it 2-0 in the third. Lewis & Clark loaded the bases on an error, a Scroggins bunt single and a Patton walk. With two down, Dahir reached on an error by the shortstop that scored Ozuna.

Garcia kept the hosts off the scoreboard in the fifth and sixth frames to give the River Otters bats a chance to come back.
In the top of the seventh, Ozuna opened the frame with a hit by pitch. Scroggins worked a full-count walk with one out to put the tying run on base. Patton singled to left field but Ozuna was thrown out at home plate for the second out of the frame.
