PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College first-year
Phoebe Labuhn earned Northwest Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.
The award is the first conference weekly honor of Labuhn's career.
Labuhn earned the recognition after recording her first collegiate start and win in Lewis & Clark's 18-7 victory at Linfield last Wednesday. She played all 60 minutes in goal and finished with 14 saves while allowing seven goals.
The goalkeeper made several key stops during the opening quarter as Lewis & Clark built an early lead. Labuhn made multiple saves on free-position attempts and stopped eight shots in the first quarter. The River Otters held Linfield to two goals in the period and led 4-2.
The first-year added three saves in the second quarter and three more in the third. She finished with 14 saves on 21 shots on goal and secured the win in her first collegiate start.
Lewis & Clark returns to action Thursday at 5 p.m. when the River Otters host Aurora University at Griswold Stadium.
