PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College senior
Kate Meinhard was named Northwest Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Meinhard totaled 10 draw controls, 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers across three River Otters games. She also recorded three goals and two assists.
In Thursday's 13-8 home win against Aurora, Meinhard finished with four ground balls, one draw control and five caused turnovers. She scored one goal and added an assist.
Meinhard posted three ground balls, four draw controls and three caused turnovers in Saturday's 9-8 home loss to Occidental. She also added an assist.
In Sunday's 22-0 home win against Pacific Lutheran, Meinhard recorded four ground balls and five draw controls while adding one caused turnover. She scored two goals in the victory and surpassed 150 career draw controls during the game. Meinhard now owns 154 career draw controls.
The River Otters will travel to Meinhard's home state of Ohio for two games during spring break. Lewis & Clark will face Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).
