SALEM, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's outdoor track & field won five events and posted 17 top-50 marks in program history on Saturday at the Eldon & Chuck Throw Down.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Malia Heien won two races and helped the 4x400M Relay post the seventh-fastest time in program history to lead the River Otters.
Saturday's meet was set up as a dual meet with the two teams honoring legendary coaches Eldon Fix (Lewis & Clark) and Charles Bowles (Willamette University). The winner of each event earned five points, with the second and third-place finishers garnering three and one point.
Heien opened her day by finishing first out of seven runners in the 1,500M. The senior crossed the line in 4:52.60 to finish 5.87 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Senior
Miriam Reside came in third in the event with a time of 5:03.71. Sophomore
Maeva Conroy (5:32.14) and junior
Nadia Cota (5:32.88) placed sixth and seventh.
Heien added a first-place finish in the 800M. The senior beat out of a field of 10 runners when she notched a time of 2:19.11. Her time was 8.29 seconds ahead of the top Willamette runner. Reside finished second on the team and fifth overall with a mark of 2:33.57. Cota came across in 2:37.53 to finish seventh. Junior
Mackenzie Olver (2:38.06) and Conroy (2:43.90) finished eighth and tenth.
Heien also ran the anchor leg in the 4x400M Relay. The quartet of senior

Callow Soto and Heien finished first out of three teams with a time of 4:03.84. Their time moved them into seventh all-time in program history. Lewis & Clark's second relay team finished third overall. The foursome of junior
Carolyn Mayberry, Cota, Olver and Conroy registered a time of 4:38.96 to finish third.
Soto added a first-place finish in the 400M. She raced against herself and notched a time of 1:00.89.
Junior
Lillian Besa added the team's fifth and final event victory. Besa placed first out of eight throwers in the discus. She launched the discus 36.79M (120-08 Feet) to not only win the event but move into 10
th place in program history. Junior
Divinity Singleton placed fourth in the event with a throw of 32.35M (106-01 Feet). Senior
Reilyn Sabado came in seventh place with a heave of 29.62M (97-02 Feet). First years
Ky Roussin (26.75M/87-09 Feet) and
Lillian Morlan (24.80M/81-04 Feet) finished seventh and eighth in the event.
Lewis & Clark tacked on seven second-place finishes on Saturday.
Besa finished second out of six throwers in the hammer. The junior launched the hammer 38.11M (125-00 Feet) to move into 11
th in program history. Singleton placed third overall with a mark of 36.14M (118-07 Feet). Roussin added a top-20 throw (17
th all-time) in program history, when she registered a heave of 32.50M (106-07 Feet) to finish sixth overall.
Singleton led four Lewis & Clark throwers in the shot put. The junior finished second out of seven throwers with a throw of 11.34M (37-02.50 Feet). Senior
Nia Pile came in third in the event when she launched the shot put 10.65M (34-11.25 Feet). Roussin and Morlan each added top-50 marks in program history. Roussin posted a mark of 10.41M (34-02.00 Feet) to finish fourth overall. Morlan came in sixth with a throw of 9.57M (31-04.75 Feet).
Sabado led Lewis & Clark in the javelin. The senior launched the implement 27.27M (89-05 Feet) to finish second out of three throwers.
Senior
Anli Davis came in second out of three competitors in the triple jump. Davis leapt 10.18M (33-04.75 Feet) to move into 20
th in program history in the event.
Chin led a trio of Lewis & Clark runners in the 400M Hurdles. The senior placed second out of six runners with a time of 1:06.35. Mayberry came across in 1:12.37 to finish in fifth. First year
Sofia Figueroa notched a sixth-place finish with a time of 1:13.76. She moved into 36
th in program history in the event.
Soto finished second out of five runners in the 200M with a time of 26.85.
Lewis & Clark finished second and third in the 3,000M Steeplechase. First years
Tesla Curtis (13:44.81) and
Katherine Scannell (13:53.16) moved into 25
th and 26
th place in program history in the event.
The River Otters added their final second-place showing in the 4x100M Relay. The quartet of junior
Rose Dinh, Chin, Soto and Figueroa combined for a time of 51.71 to move into a tie for 48
th in program history.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Morlan and Roussin each made their collegiate track & field debuts on Saturday.
- Mayberry led a trio of Lewis & Clark runners in the 100M Hurdles. Mayberry placed fifth out of eight runners with a time of 16.62. Her time moved her into 15th in school history. Dinh finished sixth and 19thin program history with a time of 16.74. Figueroa added a top-50 time of her own, as she moved into 39th in program history with a time of 17.68 (eighth place).
- Roussin (23rd) and Morland (34th) each posted top-35 marks in program history in the shot put.
- Dinh and Davis represented Lewis & Clark in the 100M. Dinh placed fifth out of six runners with a time of 13.47 to move into 35th in program history. Davis came across in 14.54 to finish in sixth place.
- Twelve River Otters posted top-50 marks in program history on Saturday. Figueroa led Lewis & Clark with three top-50 marks in her outdoor track & field debut.
WHO'S NEXT
Lewis & Clark will be off next weekend, before hosting the L&C Electric Forest Open Meet on Saturday, March 21. A small contingent of throwers will travel to Oregon State for the OSU PNW Invite on Friday, March 20.
