Andrew Baum broke the program record in the weight throw and won the shot put and the men's 4x400M Relay team added a program-record setting performance over the weekend at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational.Â

Men's track & field posted a dozen top-10 marks in program history and 10 top-10 finishes in their indoor track & field season finale.Â

After going abroad last Spring and missing his junior track & field season, Baum continued his torrid start to his senior year. He finished in first place in the shot put with the 76
th-best throw in NCAA DIII this year. Baum launched the implement 15.24M (50-00.00 Feet) to defeat a field of 36 throwers. First year
Ewan Reid posted a mark of 8.86M (29-01.00 Feet).Â

Baum reset his own program record and finished fourth overall in the weight throw. He placed fourth overall with a mark of 15.83M (51-11.25 Feet). Junior
Liam Stanley posted a heave of 10.87M (35-08.00 Feet) to finish 32
nd overall.Â

All four Lewis & Clark relay teams posted top-10 marks in program history.Â

The 4x400M Relay team capped off the weekend with the team's second program record. The quartet of senior
Jordan Lahusky, first year
Forrest Holt, junior
Colin Shimabukuro and junior
Harrison Fung placed ninth out of 15 teams. Their time of 3:28.03 broke the program record that was set in 2023 at the 2023 Spokane Invitational.Â

Lewis & Clark entered three teams into the Distance Medley Relay on Friday night. The top team of junior
Quinn Higgins, Lahusky, Shimabukuro and junior
Evan Markelz posted the second-fastest time in program history. The quartet combined for a time of 10:36.14 - which ranks 27
th in NCAA DIII this year. They finished the race in fifth overall. The "B" team of sophomore
AJ Gibbs, Fung, junior
Jordan Wu and junior
Emil Miller notched a time of 11:06.16 to move into fourth in program history. First year
Knox Orchard, juniors
Teagon Aasen and
Gavin Sellers and senior
Joseph Naylor combined for a time of 11:28.69 to post the fifth-fastest time in school history.Â

Markelz led Lewis & Clark in the 3,000M Invite. He finished eighth out of 25 runners and posted a PR time of 8:37.46 to move into third place in program history. Miller came across in 20
th place with a PR mark of 9:00.68.Â

Gibbs led a quartet of River Otters who competed in the 3,000M Collegiate section. Gibbs came across in ninth out of 33 runners with a time of 9:16.18. Naylor (9:25.02) and Orchard (9:38.39) each posted PR times to finish in 11
th and 19
th places. Senior
Theron Plumb made his season-debut and crossed the line in 20
th place with a time of 9:39.67.Â

Senior Jonathan Fritz placed ninth overall in the 60M Hurdles. Fritz posted a PR time of 8.80 to move into fourth place in program history in the event.Â

Fritz also led Lewis & Clark in the long jump. The senior leapt 6.45M (21-02.00 Feet) to place 11
th out of 27 competitors. Sophomore Kris Adams placed 18
th overall with a jump of 5.92M (19-05.25 Feet). Junior
Keegan Zaso moved into eighth all-time in the event when he notched a mark of 4.31M (14-01.75 Feet) to place 26
thoverall.Â

Higgins claimed the final top-10 performance of the weekend for the men's team. He notched a season-best time of 4:22.85 in the mile to place 10
th overall. Sellers (4:54.52) and junior
John Blockhus (5:07.64) came across in 37
th and 40
th places.Â

Fung led a trio of River Otters in the 400M. Fung crossed the line 50.45 to finish 15
th out of 39 runners. His time moved him into third place in program history in the event. Lahusky recorded a time of 51.10 to place 18
th. Holt notched a time of 52.93 to place 26
th. He cracked the top-10 in program history and sits eight all-time.Â

Shimabukuro added a top-10 mark in program history in the 800M. The junior crossed the line in 2:02.89 to place 16
th and sixth in school history. Wu posted a time of 2:11.16 to finish 29
th overall. Aasen came across in 2:17.57 to take 35
th place.Â

First year
Duncan O'Kelly posted his first collegiate mark in the pole vault. O'Kelly placed 16
th overall when he cleared 3.90M (12-09.50 Feet). His mark moved him into sixth place in program history.Â

Sophomore
Jaden Mwendapole paced a trio of Lewis & Clark runners in the 60M. Mwendapole placed 30
th out of 74 runners with a time of 7.17. First year
Enzo Murray notched a PR time of 7.29 to finish 30
th overall. His time moved him into 10
th all-time in program history. Senior
Zaren Crockett notched a season-best time of 7.67 to finish 64
th.

Fritz also led Lewis & Clark in the 200M. He finished 40
th overall with a season-best time of 23.45. Murray added a PR time of 24.41 to finish in 55
th place.Â

BY THE NUMBERSÂ
- Baum improved upon his PR and program-record in the weight throw by 3-01.00 feet. His best throw in the shot put was a PR by over five feet (5-02.25 Feet).Â
- Men's track & field broke three program records across their four indoor meets. Baum (weight throw), 4x400M Relay and Fung (600M) all set program records this winter.Â
- Lewis & Clark competed against 25 schools at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational including NCAA DI schools Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Idaho University, Portland State University. Â
