Women's Golf One Stroke Better on Day Two of Pacific Invitational

BANKS, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's golf team finished one stroke better on day two of the Pacific Invitational, finishing invite with a 705 (353 + 352). 

Whitman won the invite with a 632, while Willamette finished second with a 658 and Whitworth took third with a 662. Pacific Lutheran took fourth (669), Linfield sixth (730), Pacific seventh (797) and Puget Sound concluded the invite in eighth with an 887. 

Claire Burke had an amazing second round, improving by 11 strokes from day one, shooting a 76. With her improvement on day two Burke ended the invite in eighth place with a 163 (87 + 76). Arielle Valdez finished in 11th place after shooting a 164 (78 + 86). Sofia Vigil also finished in the top-20 with a 172 (85 + 87), taking home 18th place. Abbi Rautenberg rounded out the Pioneer team score with a 206 with a 103 on both days. 

Kelly Sweeney of Whitman won the invite with a 152, while Emily Cook of Pacific Lutheran took second (155) and Alyssa Maine of Whitman finished in third (156). 

The team returns to the course on Oct. 4 at the Whitworth Invitational.
