PORTLAND, Ore. — Lewis & Clark College sophomore rower Meredith Lybbert has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) 2026 NCAA Division III Athletes to Watch list the association announced last week.
Lybbert was one of 18 Division III rowers selected for the honor. Athletes were nominated by their coaches based on performance, consistency, leadership, work ethic and sportsmanship. The CRCA Athletes to Watch list recognized student-athletes across all three NCAA divisions.
A biology major from Portland, Lybbert walked on to the River Otters rowing program as a freshman in 2024-25 and earned a seat in the varsity eight. She has held that position for a second consecutive season and owns the team's fastest 5K time. Lybertt has posted times of 20:30 for a 5K and 7:39 for a 2K.
"Meredith walked on to the team as a freshman and has blown everyone out of the water in her second year of rowing," head coach Charlotte Copp said. "She is a consistent force on the team with a competitive attitude and drive. She is level-headed, thinks through her actions, sets goals and has a positive yet analytical approach to everything. She represents the future I want to see with L&C Crew."
The River Otters will row an exhibition against NCAA Division I Portland this weekend and officially open the spring season next weekend at the PLU Invite in Tacoma, Washington.
