MONTERREY PARK, Calif.—Lewis & Clark College swimming posted nine top-10 times in program history, including four top-five marks, on Day Two of the Winter Collegiate Swim Invite.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior
Micah Rysavy and junior
Ezra Billings both earned spots in the B Final in the 100 Fly and both posted top-three times in program history to lead the Pioneers on Day Two.
MEN'S RECAP
Rysavy continued his stellar weekend by posting three top-10 marks in program history and being part of two Relay Teams that notched top-10 times.
The senior and Billings were the lone two individuals to qualify for Finals on Saturday morning. The pair placed ninth and 12
th overall in the 100 Fly Prelims. Rysavy touched the wall in 50.49, just .03 out of the A Final. Billings posted a season-best time of 50.85 to not only reach the Final but notch the third-fastest time in program history.
In the Final on Saturday night, Rysavy shaved off 0.16 seconds off his time to win the B Final and finish ninth overall. His new PR kept him second all-time in the event and moved him closer to the program-record mark. Billings placed 13
th in the Finals with a final time of 50.79.
First year
Sam LoCurto notched the ninth-fastest time in program history in the 100 Fly on Saturday morning. LoCurto closed in 52.73 to place 38
th. Junior
Michael Spicer (53.23) and senior
Ian Holmberg (54.74) finished 47
th and 59
th overall.
Rysavy added a top-10 mark in program history in the 200 Free (ninth all-time). The senior just missed out on the Final as he placed 26
th overall with a new PR of 1:45.64. Senior
Aidan Ringel touched the wall in 1:46.59 to place 30
th. Junior
Zach Martin (1:02.76) barely edged LoCurto (1:47.95) with the duo placing 38
th and 40
th.
First year
Isaiah Frei led three Lewis & Clark swimmers in the 100 Backstroke. Frei placed 44
th with a mark of 56.14. Holmberg finished in 58.35 to place 49
th. Sophomore
Aidan Beatty notched a time of 1:08.93 to finish 53
rd. Rysavy, who swam the event as an exhibition, finished in 53.27. His time moves him into fifth all-time in the event. His time would have put him in 28
th place.
Billings added a top-10 all-time mark in the 100 Breaststroke. The junior finished 31
st overall with a time of 1:00.38. His season-best time moves him into sixth place all-time in program history. Senior
Isaac Anderson also cracked the top-10 all-time in the event. Anderson posted the ninth-fastest time when he closed in 1:00.97 to finish 36
th overall. Martin finished in 1:02.76 to place 43
rd. Sophomore
Colin Ziegler took 51
st place with a time of 1:07.85.
Spicer led Lewis & Clark in the 400 IM. The junior touched the wall in 4:25.99 to place 32
nd overall. His time would be the seventh-best mark all-time, but his PR already has him sitting fifth. Anderson (4:34.62) and
Isaiah Frei (4:39.38) finished back-to-back in 39
th and 40
th places.
The men's team added top-six times all-time in both relays.
In the first event of the night, the quartet of Rysavy, Anderson, Billings and Martin combined for the fourth-fastest time in program history. The quartet closed in 1:37.20 to finish in 15
th. The Pioneers second group finished in 20
th. Frei, Ziegler, Holmberg and LoCurto combined for a time of 1:43.48.
The Pioneers closed the night with their final top-10 mark. Lewis & Clark placed 12
th in the 800 Free Relay. Billings, Ringel, Martin and Rysavy posted a time of 7:05.94 to move into sixth place in program history.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Juniors
Aniqah Gaffoor and
Jane Tewinkel each posted big times to lead Lewis & Clark on Saturday.
Gaffoor nearly became the first Pioneers woman to earn a spot in the Finals this weekend, in the second event of the day. She finished 25
th overall just 0.19 seconds out of the C Final. Gaffoor touched the wall in a season-best mark of 59.43. She improved her season PR by over two seconds and notched what would have been the seventh-best time in program history, if not for the fact she owns the program's best time in the event. Senior
Josephine Mann placed 84
th overall with a time of 1:19.62.
Tewinkel also posted a time that would rank top-10 if not for the fact she owns a top-10 mark already. The junior led six swimmers in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:02.08. She finished 48

Angie Cummings came in just behind her in 51

AJ Schroeder led Lewis & Clark in the 400 IM and 100 Breaststroke. In the 400 IM, Schroeder took 42
ndplace with a time of 5:08.41. They took home 58
th place in the 100 Breaststroke with a mark of 1:13.61. Sophomore
Dahlia Linkow ended the race 63
rd when she touched in 1:14.14.
Barton led eight swimmers in the 200 Free. The junior came across in the 2:04.05 to place 65
th. Hurty took second in the event with a time of 2:06.63 to place 77
th. Sophomore
Sophie Justus and Tewinkel finished back-to-back in 79
th and 80
th places. Justus finished in 2:06.65 to barely edge Tewinkel (2:07.64). Linkow came in 82
nd overall with a time of 2:09.18. Senior
Ella Stephan registered a mark of 2:09.95 to place 85

Ella Gimon (2:24.87) and Rios (2:31.32) finished in 93

Lewis & Clark had three relay teams compete in the night session.
The quartet of Cummings, Linkow, Gaffoor and Barton finished 20
th overall in the 200 Medley Relay. They combined for a time of 1:53.69. The second relay team, in the 200 Medley Relay, of Tewinkel, Gimon, Schroeder and Stephan registered a time of 1:59.43 to place 28
th overall.
The Pioneers took home 23
rd place in the 800 Free Relay. Cummings, Justus, Hurty and Barton notched a combined time of 8:25.27 in the event.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Rysavy's new PR time (50.33) in the 100 Fly is just 0.14 seconds off the program-record mark. Kyle Monteleone set the program record of 50.19 during the 2019-20 season.
- Gaffoor's time in the 100 Fly (59.43) is her fastest mark since she set the program record at the 2023 Northwest Conference Championship Meet. As a sophomore, she posted a season-best time of 59.66.
- The men's team has posted a top-seven time in program history in all four relays thus far this weekend.
- Rysavy has been a part of all four relay teams that have posted top-10 times. He also has posted a program-record time in the 200 IM, the second-fastest time in the 100 Fly, fifth-fastest mark in the 100 Backstroke and ninth-fastest in the 200 Free.
