The Pioneers kicked off their annual mid-season larger meet on Friday against a large field of NCAA DII and strong NCAA DIII programs.Ā

Senior
Micah Rysavy started the program off with a bang as he broke the 200 IM record that had stood since the 1988-89 season. The men's team added their second record-setting performance of the meet in the first event of the night session. The 200 Free Relay team of junior

The men's team sent at least one swimmer to the final in all three individual events on Friday morning and notched six top-10 marks in program history.Ā

Rysavy put together the biggest performance on Friday morning. The senior finished in a tie for 19
thĀ in the prelims with a record-setting time of 1:56.35. His time was a PR by nearly 1.5 seconds (1.45) and saw him move from fourth to first all-time in the event. He finished in 21
stĀ place in the C Finals with a time of 1:56.74.Ā

Isaiah Frei placed 52
ndĀ in the 200 IM prelims when he touched the wall in 2:07.54.Ā

Two Pioneers earned spots in the Finals of the 50 Free. Billings placed 11
thĀ in the morning session with a mark of 21.03. Martin claimed the 24
thĀ and final spot in the Finals with a PR time of 21.61. His time moved him from ninth place to sixth all-time in program history. In the Finals, Billings placed 11
thĀ (third in the B Final) with a time of 20.95. Martin placed 24
thĀ overall with a mark of 22.01.Ā

LoCurto just missed making the finals in the 50 Free (26
thĀ place) with a PR time of 21.61. His time helped him crack the top-10 and move into a tie for seventh all-time. Senior

Michael Spicer claimed a spot in the C Final of the 500 Free. Spicer swam the ninth-fastest time in program history with a mark of 4:51.17. Ringel placed 31

The Pioneers added their second program-record setting time in the 200 Free Relay. The combo of Billings, Rysavy, LoCurto and Martin posted a mark of 1:25.26 to break the program-record time that was set in the 2019-20 season. The quartet finished ninth out of 20 teams. Gimon was Lewis & Clark's lone swimmer competing in the 200 IM. She finished in 2:44.96 to place 71
st. Schroeder and Gaffoor each competed in the event as an exhibition. Schroeder closed in 2:23.45 to barely edge Gaffoor (2:23.97).Ā

BY THE NUMBERS
- Rysavy broke Matt Roth's record in the 200 IM which had stood since the 1988-89 season. Roth's record of 1:56.98 was tied for the second-longest standing record in program history. Rysavy broke the mark by 0.63 seconds. He moved from fourth place (1:57.80) to first (1:56.35) by shaving 1.45 seconds off his collegiate PR.Ā
- The Pioneers men's 200 Free Relay Team beat the previous program record time in the event (1:22.55) by 0.29 seconds. The quartet of Andrew Butcher, Kyle Monteleone, Erin Norman and JP Greener had held the record since the 2019-20 season.Ā
- The women's 400 Medley Relay team's time of 4:05.38 is seventh in program history and the best time by a Pioneers quartet since the 2018-19 season.Ā
- Spicer improved his PR time in the 500 Free by 2.20 seconds to move from 10thĀ to ninth all-time in the event.Ā
- Martin shaved off 0.16 seconds in the 50 Free to move from ninth to sixth. LoCurto dropped a whopping 2.20 seconds in the 50 Free to move from outside the top-10 to a tie for seventh all-time. Men's swimming now has three swimmers ranked in the top seven in program history on this year's team.Ā
