• (1949) Men's basketball wins first NWC title, a co-championship with Willamette despite L&C defeating Willamette 61-48 in the season's final game

• (1964) Jim Boutin named first team basketball All-American for the second time

• 5 (1990) Fred Wilson and Dean Sempert are honored as Merit Award winners at Oregonian Banquet of Champions

• 21 (1975) Joe Huston, former football coach and athletic director, dies at age 60

• (1980) Jeanie Pfeiffer (3m diving) becomes first L&C female to become a National Champion (AIAW meet in Allegheny, Penn.)

• 10 (1982) Karen Deck (swimming, 200 fly) becomes AIAW National Champion

• (1962) Basketball team wins first-ever National Playoff game. Game played in Kansas City with Jim Goddard as coach (defeats Ft. Hays State 75-69)

• 9 (1971) Basketball team makes last appearance at Nationals under Coach Dean Sempert. Team loses first round game.

• (1978) NAIA National Swim Meet held in Zehntbauer Swim Pavilion

• 16 (1965) Harold Weight wins L&C's only National Championship in wrestling at the NAIA meet (heavyweight division)

• (1955) Ray Hyde represents the USA in baseball during the Pan American games 

• (1988) Keith Woodard becomes an NCAA III All-American in the 10,000m run at age 39

• (1988) Kari Larsen earns the Pioneers' sixth All-American honor with school-record in 400m dash, places second at NCAA D III finals

• (1983) Paige Daugherty becomes first woman NAIA All-American in track with a second place finish at Nationals in shot put

• (1966) Don Aaberg earns the Pioneers' fourth NAIA All-American honor with second place finish in the mile run at Nationals

• 25 (1990) Baseball teams makes first-ever appearance at NAIA World Series

• (1955) Loren Michelsen becomes first L&C track NAIA All-American in discus

• (1955) Caley Cook becomes L&C's only NCAA I All-American with fourth-place finish at the NCAA Nationals in Long Jump

• (1980) Under Virginia Neal, women's tennis team wins 10th consecutive Conference title

• (1986) Leslie Johnson becomes L&C's first track National Champion, winning the NCAA III javelin

• (1990) Women's tennis team scores at National Tennis Tournament for the first time, places in tie for 26th

• 11 (1981) Dan Jones featured in a nine-page article on the three-sport athlete in Sports Illustrated

• (1982) Debbie Hoggs wins regional AIAW Div. 3 Tennis Championship

• 14 (1977) Eldon Fix wins NWC Track Championship, his final of 22 basketball, cross country, and track titles

• 17 (1998) Justin Baughman makes his Major League debut for the Anaheim Angels, becoming the second L&C graduate to play Major League Baseball. Baughman was drafted in the fifth round of the 2005 draft by the Angels.

• 9 (1981) Steve Cochran, a two time All-Conference All-District forward, is taken in the tenth round of the NBA draft by the Portland Trailbalzers. He is the first L&C player since Jim Boutin to be drafted in the NBA.

•  20 (2004) Neal Weare becomes the first former L&C varsity track athlete to compete in track in an Olympics, competing in the 1500m run in Athens for the nation of Guam.
