Weaver and Walker Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

The duo helped Lewis & Clark score 49 points in the first half on Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore.—For the first time in each of their careers, junior quarterback Dashiell Weaver and senior tight end Julius Walker were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, the website announced Tuesday morning.Ā

Weaver and Walker helped Lewis & Clark rack up 49 first-half points in their 49-28 home-opening win over Pomona-Pitzer.Ā

Weaver threw all of his program-record tying six touchdown passes in the first half on Saturday. He finished the contest 19-25 and threw for 332 yards. The junior quarterback added a team-high 43 rushing yards on seven carries. His six touchdown passes matched Lewis & Clark Hall of Famer Mike Fanger ('90) for the most touchdown passes in a single-game. Fanger recorded six touchdown passes against Simon Fraser University (1988), Oregon Institute of Technology (1989) and Willamette University (1989).Ā

Weaver leads the Northwest Conference this season with 798 passing yards and eight touchdowns. He also paces the conference with his 266.0 passing yards per contest and 233.5 pass efficiency rating. The California native ranks third in NCAA DIII this year in yards per pass attempt (13.76), fourth in passing efficiency, sixth in passing yards per completion (18.14), seventh in completion percentage (75.9), 14thĀ in touchdown passes, 20thĀ in total offense (307.0) and 21stĀ in passing yards.Ā

Walker put together the biggest game of his career in the win over the Sagehens. The senior tight end registered new career-highs with six receptions, 137 yards and two touchdown catches. He recorded a 15-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter to make it 21-7 and then capped off the scoring in the first half with a 38-yard touchdown catch with two seconds left in the second quarter. Walker gained at least nine yards on all six of his catches and posted five catches of 15 yards or more.Ā

The senior sits second on the team this year with his 12 receptions, 221 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. For his career, Walker has posted 56 receptions for 735 yards and 14 touchdown catches in 27 career games.
