HILLSBORO, Ore.—For the second time in his career, Lewis & Clark College football junior quarterback
Dashiell Weaver was named the Northwest Conference Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Weaver claimed the award after a record-tying performance in the team's 49-28 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday.
The junior quarterback went 19-25 for 332 passing yards and a career-high six touchdown passes and accomplished all of that in the first half alone. He tacked on a team-high 43 rushing yards on seven carries. Weaver posted touchdown passes of 61, 38 (x2), 15, 13, and five yards. The California native connected with sophomore wide receiver
Sytyn Lasconia for four of the six touchdowns - as Lasconia matched the program record for touchdown receptions in a single contest.
Weaver matched Lewis & Clark Hall of Famer Mike Fanger ('00) for the program record for touchdown passes in a single-game. Fanger registered six touchdown passes in a game three times between the 1988 and 1989 seasons.
Weaver's six touchdown passes in a game are tied for first in NCAA DIII this season. Olivet College's Daniel Avila, Saint John's University Trey Feeney and Saint Vincent College's Jake Phillip have also accomplished the feat and Avila matched Weaver with six touchdown passes in the first half.
Through the first three games of the season, Weaver is 44-58 and has thrown for 798 yards, eight touchdown passes and one interception. He has tacked on 123 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Weaver stands tied for ninth in program history with his 28 career touchdown passes and 21
st all-time with 2,278 passing yards.
Lewis & Clark will be off this weekend, before traveling to take on the University of Puget Sound in their Northwest Conference opener on Saturday, October 3.
