PORTLAND, Ore. — Fifth-year head coach
Erin Labasan welcomed the largest recruiting class of her tenure and Lewis & Clark College volleyball's largest group of newcomers since 2018. Five first-year students and three transfers joined the River Otters for the 2026 season.
"We're thrilled to welcome our largest class in several years," Labasan said. "Each of our three transfers brings valuable collegiate-level experience, while our five incoming first-year students will add depth to both our attack and defensive units. We're excited about everything this group will bring to LCVB, both on and off the court. Go Otts!"
The eight newcomers joined 12 returning players from last season, including eight seniors.
Morgan Armitage – Happy Valley, Ore. – Outside Hitter
Played sophomore season at Clackamas Community College … appeared in 28 matches and finished with 93 kills, 55 digs, and 35 blocks … helped the Cougars make the NWAC Regionals … had a season-high eight kills and six blocks on Oct. 24 at Southwestern Oregon … hit .444 with five kills in a win over Chemeketa on Nov. 7 … played her first year at Everett Community College … appeared in 27 matches and finished with 128 kills, 65, digs and 19 blocks … had 13 kills, 13 digs and two aces against Mt. Hood on Aug. 31 … finished with 11 kills at Edmonds on Sept. 25 … attended Adrienne C. Nelson High School … played club for NPJ … competed in volleyball all four years of high school and did two years of track and field … was a 4.0 Honor Role Student and Salutatorian of her graduating class … won multiple awards for journalism, photography and other writing ventures … her sister played college volleyball at Evergreen State College.
Gracie De Fina – Napa, Calif. – Defensive Specialist
Attended Justin-Siena High School … played club volleyball for Empire … named Defensive Player of the Year in 2026 … was a Defensive Player of the Year finalist … helped Justin-Siena earn a second-place finish in the North Coast Section in 2023.
Willow Diamond – Long Beach, Calif. – Middle Blocker
Played two seasons at Napa Valley College … in 40 matches, finished her career with 94 kills, 39 aces and 38 digs … hit .286 with six kills on Oct. 8 at Los Medanos … finished with seven kills on .211 hitting and five service aces in a win over Mendocino on Oct. 10 … served up six aces in back-to-back matches on Nov. 5 and 7 at Mendocino and Yuba … attended Wilson High School … played club for Mizuno Long Beach … was MVP in volleyball … helped her high school team to the California Interscholastic Federation championship two years … her aunt played volleyball at UNLV.
Maya Doerr – San Rafael, Calif. – Defensive Specialist
Attended Marin Catholic High School … played club for Amplify Volleyball Club 18-1s … helped her high school team win the Marin County Athletic League championship … was the Saint Sebastian award recipient … was a Dean's List and honor roll student … received the AP Scholar award … won an award in photography from FastForward Magazine.
Lexi Musselwhite – San Jose, Calif. – Outside Hitter
Attended Piedmont Hills High School … played club volleyball for Vision Volleyball Club … was a four-year varsity athlete … captain of her high school team as a junior and a senior … earned a spot on the All-League team in her junior and senior seasons … was a All-League Honorable Mention her sophomore season … graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Seal of Biliteracy … father Nathan Musselwhite played football at NCAA DIII Lebanon Valley College.
Coco Otto – Seattle, Wash. – Outside Hitter / Defensive Specialist
Played one season at Drew University (NCAA Division III) as a libero and outside hitter … finished with 241 digs, 69 kills, 46 aces, 24 assists, and six blocks in 31 matches … had a career-high 16 kills against and four assists against Elizabethtown on Oct. 24 … knocked down 13 kills with a career-best 22 digs and five aces on Oct. 25 against Susquehanna … Attended Ballard High School … played club for Washington Volleyball Academy … an All-Metro Second-Team Mountain Division selection in 2024 ... an All-Metro First-Team Sound Division pick in 2023 ... named her high school team's MVP … was captain of her high school team … member of the Spanish Club
Maddi Ruybal – Albuquerque, N.M. – Middle Blocker
Attended the Bosque School … played volleyball all four years and E-sports for three … played club volleyball for NM Cactus Volleyball Club and Warriors Volleyball Club NM … helped their high school win the New Mexico Class 3A E-sports State Championship in 2026.
Skylar Staab – Portland, Ore. – Middle Blocker
Attended Cleveland High School … played club volleyball for PDX Club Volleyball, Chaos Club Volleyball, OJVA Club Volleyball and Athena Club Volleyball … named to the Portland Interscholastic League Honorable Mention Team in 2025 and 2024 … earned her team's best offensive player award in 2024.
