Bret Potter became the second player in program history to earn First Team All-Region honors from both D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) in the same season on Tuesday.Ā

Potter carved out a spot as the First Team Utility selection in the West Region from both organizations. He matched assistant coach
Jack Thomson ('23) - who was selected to the First Team by both groups in 2022 and 2023. Potter is one of only three Northwest Conference players to earn First Team honors this season and the only NWC representative on the First Team for both All-Region Teams. Whitworth University's Kyle Memarian, Linfield University's Zach Hampson and Pacific's Nicholas Saelens were the only other NWC players to be tabbed to both All-Region teams.Ā

Potter put together a career year this Spring as the team's starting center fielder and closer. He posted new single-season highs in 19 categories including almost every major hitting and pitching stat. The junior led the team with his .396 batting average, .466 on-base percentage, .515 slugging percentage, 67 hits, eight hit by pitches, five saves, 2.50 earned run average and .229 opposing batting average. Offensively, he tacked on 30 RBI, 34 runs, eight doubles, four home runs and 13 steals. On the mound, Potter finished 2-1 in 14 appearances and struck out 17 batters in 18 innings of work. He tacked on a team-leading four outfield assists and registered a .981 fielding percentage in 100 total chances.

He set the program record for hits in a single-season (67) after going 3-5 in the Northwest Conference Tournament against Linfield. Potter broke Lewis & Clark Hall of Famer Scott Russell's ('90) program record for hits in a single-season (65) that had stood since 1990.Ā Ā He also recorded the 10
th-best batting average in a single-season (.396) and finished tied for third for saves (five) in a single-season.Ā

The Santa Clarita, California native enters his senior season with 128 career hits, 69 runs, 62 RBI, 19 doubles, one triple, five home runs and 26 stolen bases in 111 contests. On the mound, Potter has racked up a 3-1 record in 28 career appearances. He has notched seven saves (tied for 5
