LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Lewis & Clark College softball senior
Emily Patton became only the second player in program history to be named to the All-Region Team multiple times, the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA) announced on Friday afternoon.Â

Patton earned a spot on the NFCA Region 10 Third Team for a second-consecutive season. She matches former teammate
Sam Gildersleeve ('25) as the only River Otters to be named to the NFCA All-Region Team twice. Ena Eakin (3x) and Joelle Beck were each named to the NAIA All-District First Team on multiple occasions in the early 1990s, before Lewis & Clark moved to NCAA DIII in 1998.Â

Lewis & Clark was one of three Northwest Conference schools represented on this year's NFCA Region 10 All-Region Teams. Linfield University (five) and Pacific Lutheran University (two) each had multiple honorees.Â

Patton started every game (43) at shortstop for the second-consecutive season. She finished tied for the team lead with 27 runs scored. The senior also ranked in the top-five in: batting average (.341 – 2
nd), on-base percentage (.378 – 3
rd), slugging percentage (.394 – 3
rd), hits (45 – 2
nd), RBI (20 – 4
th), total bases (52 – 4
th), doubles (five – 5
th), walks (eight – 5
th), sac bunts (nine – 2
nd) and stolen bases (five – 2
nd). Defensively, Patton led the team with 82 assists and notched a .961 fielding percentage. She also helped the team turn six double plays. Her 82 assists rank 10
th in program history for a single-season.Â

She hit safely in 29 games and posted 14 multi-hit games in her final season in Orange and Black. Patton tacked on five games with multiple runs batted in. She went 2-3 with two runs scored and the scored the game-tying run in the sixth inning in an eight-inning win over nationally-ranked Emory University on March 14. The senior shortstop added a career-high four hits and matched her career-high with three RBI in an 8-7 comeback win over Puget Sound on April 3. In the bottom of the seventh inning against the Loggers, Patton delivered a walk-off RBI single to help Lewis & Clark come all the way back from a 7-0 deficit. She closed out her career by hitting safely in nine of her final 10 games, including driving in a pair of runs against Northwest Conference Tournament Champion Linfield University in the team's playoff opener.Â

Patton closes out her career as one of the top players in program history. She ranks in the top-10 in program history with: 179 hits (2

th). She recorded 40 or more hits and 20 or more runs in all four seasons and 20 or more RBI in her final three years. Patton also hit at least .339 in all four years and recorded a .950 fielding percentage in all three years as the team's starting shortstop.Â
