Ala Cross set single-game program records with nine assists and 12 points, and junior
Aviana Gonzales scored a program-record eight goals on Saturday as Lewis & Clark College women's lacrosse defeated Pacific Lutheran University 22-3 at East Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Cross finished with 12 points on three goals and nine assists. Gonzales added three assists to her eight goals for 11 points. Junior
Sage Swegle scored six goals and added two assists for eight points.

Finley Allen scored three goals and collected a team-high four ground balls. Senior
Kate Meinhard scored once and led the team with seven draw controls. Sophomore
Mack Searle recorded one assist, six draw controls and two ground balls. Sophomore
Rowan Levandoski scored one goal.

Kaitlin McRae started in goal and earned the win, allowing two goals with one save. First-year
Phoebe Labuhn played the second half, allowing one goal and making two saves.
Lewis & Clark scored the first seven goals of the game. Swegle opened the scoring at 14:45 of the first quarter on a Cross assist. Cross followed with a free-position goal 28 seconds later. Allen scored at 14:03 off another Cross assist, and Levandoski added an unassisted goal at 13:17 to make it 4-0.
Meinhard scored at 12:12 on a Swegle assist, and Swegle added another at 9:08 off a Gonzales assist. Gonzales capped the run at 5:23 on a Cross assist. Pacific Lutheran's Peyton Terhar scored at 4:28, but Gonzales answered at 1:47 to give Lewis & Clark an 8-1 lead after one quarter.
The River Otters opened the second quarter with five goals in the first 6:15. Gonzales scored at 13:18 to make it 9-1. Swegle followed at 12:32, Allen scored at 11:07 and Swegle added another at 9:45 to extend the lead to 12-1. Katrina Moran scored for Pacific Lutheran at 5:33, but Gonzales added a man-up goal at 1:07 to send Lewis & Clark into halftime with a 13-2 lead.
Lewis & Clark held Pacific Lutheran scoreless in the third quarter while scoring five goals. Gonzales opened the period at 14:15 on a Searle assist. Swegle, Cross, Allen and Gonzales each scored to push the lead to 18-2 entering the fourth quarter.
Gonzales, Cross and Swegle each added a goal in the fourth. Issabella Marchio scored at 5:03, assisted by Gracie Cecka, for the Lutes' only goal of the second half. Gonzales closed the scoring at 2:24 on a Cross assist.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Gonzales's eight goals set a Lewis & Clark single-game record. The previous mark was set by Swegle last season at Whitworth and matched by Cross earlier this year against Pacific Lutheran.
- Cross's nine assists and 12 points set single-game program records. Both marks were previously held by Gonzales, who recorded five assists and 11 points against the Milwaukee School of Engineering last season.
- Lewis & Clark held a 25-11 advantage in ground balls and an 18-9 edge in draw controls.
- Meinhard continues to move towards 100 career points as her goal against the Lutes gave her 99 in her three seasons.
- Lewis & Clark finished with 44 shots and placed 37 on goal. Pacific Lutheran recorded nine shots and six on goal.
