McKenna Zehnder recorded two hits and two runs batted in, but #4 Redlands earned a doubleheader sweep over Lewis & Clark College softball on Sunday at the Field of Dreams.

Zehnder and first year
Kodie Ancheta each posted two hits on the day to lead Lewis & Clark offensively. First year
Cici Fortuno added her first collegiate hit in her first collegiate start.
GAME ONE RECAP
Redlands ace Katlyn Gandara held Lewis & Clark to two hits and the hosts scored in four of their five at-bats to earn an 8-0 victory.
Fortuno and Zehnder notched Lewis & Clark's two base hits.
In the circle, senior
Charlize Pope was charged with eight hits, one walk and five earned runs in 2.2 innings. First year
Kara Kahahawai went the final 2.0 innings and allowed three hits, one walk and three runs (two earned).
Fortuno registered the team's first hit of the game in the top of the third. With one down, Fortuno laced a single to left field for her first collegiate hit. Zehnder added a single through the middle with two down in the top of the fifth.
Redlands took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a two-out RBI single.
The hosts tacked on four runs in the third to blow the game open. Avery Provenzano opened the frame with a leadoff home run and the Bulldogs added three runs with two down.
The Bulldogs tacked on two more runs in the fourth and a single run in the fifth to seal the win.
GAME TWO
After Lewis & Clark cut the deficit in half in the top of the sixth (4-2), Redlands posted four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the game away.
Ancheta led Lewis & Clark with two hits in four at-bats. Zehnder chipped in a base hit and a pair of RBI. Seniors
Lacey Marglin and
Emily Patton each recorded a hit and a run scored.
Senior
Maggie O'Leary kept Lewis & Clark in the contest for most of her outing. She allowed 11 hits, one walk and eight runs (six earned) in 5.1 innings. First year
Hulali Williams made her collegiate debut in the circle in relief and junior
Ryan Jurischk retired two of the three batters she faced.
Both teams put runners on in every half inning through the first four innings. Redlands took a 2-0 lead in the third when Natalie Lowthers delivered a two-out, two-run single. The hosts added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth - on an error that allowed two runs to score with two outs.
Lewis & Clark scratched across their first runs of the day in the top of the sixth. Marglin singled up with middle with one out. Patton followed with a single to center and both runners moved up 60 feet on the throw. With two down, Zehnder lined a single to left-center to score both runners to make it 4-2.
Redlands used five hits, two walks and a wild pitch to push their lead back to 8-2 in the bottom of the sixth.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Ancheta posted the third multi-hit game of her young collegiate career in game two. The first year is tied with Harper Campanella for the team lead in hits (seven).
- Zehnder's posted her first two RBI of the season in game two.
- Fortuno made her first two starts of her collegiate career on Saturday and posted a hit and a sac bunt.
- Williams faced two batters in the bottom of the sixth inning in game two.
WHO'S NEXT
Lewis & Clark will return to Portland to play their Northwest Conference and home opener. They will welcome Whitworth University on Saturday and Sunday for a four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for Noon on Saturday.
