PORTLAND, Ore. -- Lewis & Clark defeated Willamette University 6-1 in Northwest Conference men's tennis on Sunday morning at the L&C Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The River Otters won all three doubles matches and five of six singles contests. Seniors

Kaden Sigurdsson each went 2-0 against the Bearcats.
Lewis & Clark controlled doubles from the opening match. Loucks and Sigurdsson started at No. 3 and defeated Jake Bronson and Baily Livengood 6-4. Sutin and senior
Kai Wills followed at No. 1 with a 6-4 win over AJ Avansino and Hudson Snyder to clinch the doubles point. Bishnoi and McDermott completed the sweep at No. 2 with a 7-5 win over Luca Casano and Sohnosuke Sakaguchi in the tightest set of the round.
The River Otters carried a 1-0 lead into singles and built their advantage quickly. Bishnoi posted the first singles result at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Snyder. Sigurdsson followed at No. 1, defeating Avansino 6-1, 6-3 to extend the lead to 3-0. Willamette earned its lone point at No. 3, where Sakaguchi defeated Wills 6-3, 6-1.
Sutin clinched the team victory at No. 2 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Bronson, giving Lewis & Clark a 4-1 advantage. McDermott conceded only two games in a 6-2, 6-0 result against Jack Hally at No. 5. Loucks closed the afternoon at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Casano to set the final score.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. No Lewis & Clark singles winner dropped more than four games in any set.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Junior Bridger Galyardt and first-year Aslan Gemuhluoğlu defeated Hally and Jake Freeman 6-2 in an exhibition doubles match.
- Junior Max Furman earned a 6-0, 6-2 exhibition singles win over Freeman.
