PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark earned its first win of the season with a 6-1 victory over the University of Puget Sound in Northwest Conference men's tennis on Saturday afternoon at the L&C Tennis Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The River Otters won all three doubles matches to open the afternoon. Senior
Spencer Loucks and first-year
Kaden Sigurdsson started at No. 3 and defeated Aidan Kresko and Sam Lowery 6-3. Junior
Noah Sutin and senior
Kai Wills followed at No. 1 with a 6-3 win over Jason Rowe and Jackson Stumpf to clinch the doubles point. Sophomore
Arnav Bishnoi and senior
Wade McDermott completed the sweep at No. 2, winning a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3) against Tyler Blixt and Gavin Dille.
Lewis & Clark carried its 1-0 lead into singles and won five of six matches. Sutin recorded the first singles result at No. 2, where he led Stumpf 6-3, 3-1 before Stumpf retired. Puget Sound earned its lone point at No. 1, where Rowe defeated Sigurdsson 7-5, 6-2.
Bishnoi dropped the opening set 2-6 to Vincent Unpingco at No. 4 before winning the final two sets 6-2, 6-1. Wills won the first set 6-4 against Gavin Dille, lost the second 4-6, then took the third set 6-1 to secure the match.
McDermott took the first set 6-3 over Reef Gelder at No. 5. The second set went to a tiebreaker, where McDermott won 7-6 (7-3) to finish in straight sets. Loucks completed the day at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Sebastian Silverstein.
