McMINNVILLE, Ore. — Lewis & Clark College women's basketball led after the first quarter but could not keep pace in the second half, falling 87-59 to Northwest Conference champion Linfield University on Friday evening at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First-year
Ky Roussin scored a career-high 14 points off the bench on 6-of-12 shooting with two 3-pointers. She added five rebounds, two assists and a block.
Junior
Divinity Singleton and first-year
Ali McCauley each scored nine points. Singleton went 4-of-12 from the field, and McCauley shot 4-of-8 with two steals. Sophomore
Kaitlen Carns contributed eight points, a team-high four assists and a steal.
Linfield opened on a 6-0 run as Skylar Willey scored four points on layups. Singleton hit a jumper, and junior
DJ Kendrick converted inside to pull Lewis & Clark within 8-4. Roussin and first-year
Lilly Jordan hit back-to-back three-pointers to give the River Otters their first lead at 10-9. A driving layup from Roussin with eight seconds left sent Lewis & Clark into the second quarter leading 18-17 after a first quarter that featured five lead changes.
Singleton opened the second quarter with a 3-pointer to push the lead to 21-17. McCauley scored five points, including a 3-pointer off a steal, to keep Lewis & Clark ahead 26-22. Linfield's Amelia Solt hit three 3-pointers in the period, and her third gave the Wildcats a 28-26 lead. Linfield closed the quarter on an 8-0 run to take a 38-31 advantage into the break.
The Wildcats scored the first four points of the third quarter to extend their run to 12 unanswered. Carns responded with a 3-pointer to cut the deficit to eight at 42-34, but Linfield scored the next 11 points. The Wildcats led 63-45 entering the fourth.
Linfield's reserves extended the margin to 28 in the final period. First-year
Hailey Perez scored four of her seven points in the fourth quarter for Lewis & Clark, going 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Senior
Madelyn Sanchez added a 3-pointer.
BY THE NUMBERS
