HOW IT HAPPENED

Occidental claimed the doubles point with wins at all three positions. The Tigers opened at No. 3, where Ace Andres and Jack Yurich defeated junior Bridger Galyardt and senior Spencer Loucks 6-1. Mason Hart and Tate Ransom clinched the point at No. 2 with a 6-2 win over sophomore Arnav Bishnoi and senior Wade McDermott.

The No. 1 doubles match was the tightest of the three. Junior Noah Sutin and Wills stayed level with Ronald Chen and Dhruv Verma and forced a tiebreaker. The Occidental pair won the tiebreaker 9-7 to complete the doubles sweep.

The Tigers entered singles with a 1-0 lead and won the first three matches to finish. Jack Yurich defeated McDermott 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, Josiah Mones posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Loucks at No. 5, and Tate Ransom beat Sutin 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 to put Occidental ahead 5-0.
