ORANGE, Calif. – The Lewis & Clark College men's tennis team fell 7-0 to Chapman University on Friday afternoon at Anderson Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Chapman secured the doubles point with three straight victories. The Panthers opened with a win at No. 3, where Lachlan Dickinson and James Krantz defeated seniors
Landon Cronin and
Spencer Loucks 6-2. They clinched the point when sophomore
Arnav Bishnoi and senior
Wade McDermott fell 6-3 to Matt Dewey and Ian Jordan.
The No. 1 match proved the most competitive, as junior
Noah Sutin and senior
Kai Wills dropped a 7-5 decision to Aram Izmirian and Ben Jorgenson.
The Panthers won all six singles matches, with the top three finishing with identical 6-1, 6-1 scores. Wills fell to Krantz at No. 2 to begin singles play, followed by Sutin's loss to Izmirian at No. 1 and Bishnoi's defeat against Dewey at No. 3.
At No. 4, McDermott battled to a 6-4 first set against Dickinson before dropping the second 6-1. Jorgenson defeated Cronin 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5, and Adrian D'Aoust earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Loucks at No. 6.
Chapman won 12 of 13 completed sets and allowed just 23 total games in singles play.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Sutin lost only his second singles match of the year and first of the spring season.
- Wills and Sutin are 5-2 as a doubles pair after going 4-1 in the fall and earning a win last week at George Fox.
