Sophomore Zach Martin led the men’s swimming team at the Bruins Invitational over the weekend with four individual top-5 and four relay top-4 finishes while ending in the top-10 in program history in four events. Marting earned his first win of the meet in the 100 Freestyle race and just missed out on a personal best by touching the wall in 46.96. Earlier in the evening, he set the 10th-best time for the men’s 100 Butterfly with a time of 52.87, and his fifth-place time made him the third Pioneer to finish in the top 5 of that race. Martin helped two relay teams finish third on Saturday as the men finished with the fifth-fastest time in the program with 1:28.17 during the 200 Free Relay. Martin swam the freestyle portion of the relay for the 400 Medley and helped the men finish in 3:41.27.    

On Sunday, Martin posted two more top-10 times in program history as he won the 200 Free with the second fastest program time of 1:42.74. He swam the 100 Breast in 1:00.86 for the sixth-fastest time in program history. Martin helped the men take second in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:15.59 and fourth in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:40.91.
