Esparza Salazar scored the first two varsity goals of his collegiate career this past week. He was one of three Pioneers to score in a 3-2 scrimmage win against Multnomah University on Thursday. He opened the scoring against the Lions six minutes into the game, weaving through two defenders to score. On Sunday afternoon, the sophomore captain scored his first official collegiate goal against Pacific Lutheran on the road. He received a pass from teammate Aashir Walson around midfield, then spun by a defender, dribbled downfield, and then sent a rocket past the Pacific Lutheran keeper from 25 yards to tie the game in the 63rd minute.
