First-year Charlie Hageman went 2-0 at the Pines Cup this past weekend to help Pioneers men’s golf team win their first tournament in over 15 years. Hageman recorded a tournament-low score of 141 (-3) over the two days to finish first out of 18 golfers. On Saturday, he trailed by two holes after eight, then won four of the final 10 holes to defeat Pacific’s Kamas Romney 2&1. Hageman tied for the second-lowest score on the team with a round of 71 (-1) on Day 1 and came back on Sunday to record the lowest score of the day, a two-under round of 70 to win his matchup 5&3 easily. His round of 70 on Sunday was tied for the second-lowest round by any golfer over the weekend. He's the first Pioneers men's golfer to post back-to-back under par rounds in the same tournament since Drew Groshong in September 2016.
