Jon Westlake returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach in the Fall of 2025.
The River Otters took a major step forward during Westlake's first season on staff. Women's golf posted their best finish in the Northwest Conference Season Standings since the 2016-17 season when they placed third overall. Men's golf finished in sixth place for the second-straight season but posted their best finish at an NWC Championship since 1988 when they came in fourth place. Women's sophomore Ahika Jani was named to the NWC First Team after becoming the second player in women's program history to win an NWC Event (NWC Spring Classic). She finished the year ranked 74th in NCAA DIII in the Clippd Rankings. Men's junior Luke Blankinship earned his first career NWC All-Conference honors (Third Team), after placing tied for fifth at the NWC Championship.
Westlake played for three seasons on the men's team and served as a team captain during his senior season (2024-25). The Portland, Oregon native improved with every season and finished his senior season with a career-best 77.58 (+6) average. He notched a career-low round of 69 (-2) on Day Two of the George Fox Invitational (March 2025) to help lead the Pioneers to their first (confirmed) tournament victory since 1972. Westlake led the men's program to their best finish in the NWC Standings since 2017 when they placed sixth out of nine teams for the 2024-25 school year.
Westlake was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on two occasions and a Northwest Conference First Team Scholar-Athlete Team as a senior. He earned the Lewis & Clark Dell-Smith Scholar Athlete of the Year (Male Scholar-Athlete) – Silver Medal as a senior and the Dan Jones Multi-Sport Athlete of the Year in 2024. In two seasons competing on the swim team, he earned All-Conference honors in the 100 Breaststroke (2023) and helped set the program record in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.
