PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College men's soccer will take on two new opponents in non-conference play and host eight conference games at Griswold Stadium this season as part of their 2026 campaign.Â
Â
The River Otters, who put together their most complete season since returning to the NCAA DIII level last Fall, will look to take another step forward in head coach
Fraser Morrison's second season.Â
Â
Men's soccer will play a pair of scrimmages, before opening up their 19-game regular season. Lewis & Clark will travel to take on Portland Community College (August 25) and NAIA Bushnell University (August 29) before classes start.Â
Â
The River Otters will kick off their season with a Southern California trip to take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Azusa Pacific University. Lewis & Clark will play the Stags on Sunday, September 6 at 2 p.m., in their season opener and first-ever game between the two programs. Less than 24 hours later, Lewis & Clark will take on Azusa Pacific on Monday, September 7 at 11 a.m. Both programs are members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Claremont-Mudd-Scripps finished in eighth place (3-5-4) in the conference last season, while Azusa Pacific joins the conference after playing at the NCAA DII level through last season.
Â
Lewis & Clark will play one final road game before opening up their home and conference slate. The River Otters will travel to Salem to take on NAIA Corban University on Wednesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. In the first meeting between the two programs, Corban claimed a 2-0 home win last September.
Â
Men's soccer will get their first chance to play in front of their home crowd on Friday, September 11. The River Otters will welcome Pacific University to Griswold Stadium for a 5 p.m. kickoff in their home and Northwest Conference opener. The two teams have played four one-goal games over the past four seasons. Last season, the Boxers needed a goal with 24 seconds left to claim a 2-1 win over Lewis & Clark in Portland.Â
Â
The River Otters will head back on the road for their next four contests. Lewis & Clark will take short trips to George Fox University (September 13) and Linfield University (September 26), sandwiched around the long trek to play Whitworth University (September 19) and Whitman College (September 20). Whitman College is the reigning NWC Champion after going unbeaten in the NWC last season with a 13-0-3 record. The Blues finished the regular season unbeaten, before falling 3-2 to Texas Lutheran University in the First Round of the NCAA DIII Tournament.Â
Â
Lewis & Clark will open up a busy October with three-straight home games and play six of their nine games at home that month.Â
Â
Men's soccer will take on NWC runner-up Pacific Lutheran University on October 3, before hosting the University of Puget Sound (October 4) and George Fox University (October 7). Last season, Lewis & Clark posted their second-ever shutout in program history, when junior goalie
Micaiah Garan made six saves against Puget Sound in a 0-0 home draw. George Fox and Lewis & Clark have traditionally played tight games – with one tie and three one-goal matches in their last five meetings. Â
Â
The River Otters will wrap up the first half of their double round robin conference schedule on October 10, when they take on Willamette University.Â
Â
They will immediately return home for their second three-game homestand of the year. Lewis & Clark will host Whitman (October 16), Whitworth (October 18) and Linfield (October 25) over a 10-day span. Last season, Lewis & Clark and Linfield played one of the most dramatic games in program history. Linfield raced out to a 3-0 lead in Portland, only for Lewis & Clark to score four goals in the final 60 minutes to earn a comeback 4-4 tie. The four goals are the most goals scored in a single game in program history and marked the program's first conference tie in almost two years.Â
Â
After a weekend trip to Tacoma, Lewis & Clark will close out the regular season with a matchup against Willamette University. Men's soccer and the Bearcats will play on Sunday, November 8 at 11 a.m. for the Lewis & Clark Senior Day match. The River Otters will honor their seven seniors prior to the doubleheader.Â
Â
Lewis & Clark will play the majority of their conference games at Noon. Any midweek or Friday game will start at 5 p.m.Â
Â
The River Otters return eight players who made 10 or more starts last season and their top-four players for minutes played. Garan will look to anchor the team's defense for a third-straight season - after helping the defense set new program records for goals against average (2.60) and save percentage (.701). Senior
Dylan Weinstein led the team in goals (three) and points (seven) in 2025 and junior
Sam London finished tied for second on the team with a pair of goals.Â
