PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College women's lacrosse fell 18-10 to visiting Whitman College in Northwest Conference play on Sunday afternoon at Griswold Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First-year
Ala Cross extended her single-season program records for assists and points. She scored three goals and added one assist, including two man-up goals in the third quarter.
Junior
Sage Swegle matched Cross with three goals and one assist and reached 44 goals on the season. Junior
Finley Allen finished with two goals and a team-high two assists, connecting with Swegle on the second-quarter tying goal and assisting on another early in the fourth.
Senior
Kate Meinhard scored twice, won five draw controls and collected three ground balls. First-year
Kaedance Stubbs led the team with six ground balls and five caused turnovers. Sophomore
Mack Searle added three ground balls, three caused turnovers and an assist on one of Cross' man-up goals.
Sophomore
Kaitlin McRae started in goal and made three saves in the first half. First-year
Phoebe Labuhn played the second half and recorded a game-high five saves.
Whitman opened with three unanswered goals in the first 4:15. Swegle scored the first Lewis & Clark goal at 8:00 of the opening quarter on a feed from sophomore
Aviana Gonzales, and Meinhard added another at 4:25 off a Cross helper to cut the deficit to 5-2 after one quarter.
Lewis & Clark scored the first three goals of the second quarter to tie the game 5-5 with 10:29 remaining, with Allen, Meinhard and Swegle each scoring during the run. Whitman closed the half with two goals in the final two minutes, from Serafin Miller and Emily Odegaard, to take a 7-5 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Cross scored consecutive man-up goals at 7:02 and 4:23 to cut the Whitman lead to 9-8. Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky answered at 3:29 to make it 10-8 entering the fourth.
Ellie Milesi scored twice in the opening 34 seconds of the fourth quarter to widen the Whitman lead to 12-8. Swegle cut the margin to three at 12:49, but Whitman answered with three straight goals from Lola McConaghy, Odegaard and Sarah Hawkins to lead 15-9. Cross scored at 8:22 to make it 15-10, and Whitman added three more goals in the final 7:24, including two from McConaghy in the final two minutes.
