(Lewis & Clark 5-4, 1-1 NWC)
(Northwest Indian 2-9)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Five juniors scored in double figures, led by Nate Berg, who recorded his first career double-double with an NCAA career-high of 14 points and a collegiate-high of 16 rebounds. Mikey Medlock Jr. (13), Griffin Datcher IV (12), Sam Henderson (10) and Isaac Ticeson (10) were the remaining juniors with double-digit point totals.

Senior Nikko Echalas scored six points with four rebounds, three assists and a steal. The Pioneers outscored the Eagles by 29 points during the 17 minutes Echalas was on the floor.

Sebastian DePrez, Sidney Jones, and Amos Hodgson IV each scored five points for Lewis & Clark off the bench. DePrez pulled down five rebounds and added a steal. Jones grabbed four boards with two assists and a block. Hodgson was 2-2 from the charity strip and added an assist in his third game of the season.

Echalas grabbed a defensive board, then made a great alley-oop pass to Datcher IV for the finish, putting the Pios up 11-2 and forcing an Eagle timeout less than three minutes into the game. Ticeson grabbed a steal and scored his first of five baskets immediately after the timeout to keep the momentum going. The junior finished a perfect 5-for-5 in the game. Junior Nik Berry found DePrez in the paint just over the eight-minute mark to give Lewis & Clark a 35-12 lead, their largest of the half.

Medlock, Jr. drew a foul on a three-point attempt less than two minutes into the second half and hit all three free throws to put Lewis & Clark up by 28 points. Two and half minutes later, the junior found Datcher IV in the key, who finished with a two-handed dunk to go up 63-33. Sophomore Taien Jackson hit a layup at 13:19 for a 31-point advantage, and the Pioneers' lead never dropped below 30 the rest of the game. Fellow sophomore TJ Muhammad pushed the lead to 71-39 on a pair of made free throws with 11:05 left in the game.

Jones hit a three-point shot off an assist from sophomore Kody Uyesugi just under the nine-minute point to go up 79-41. After the game's final media timeout, Lewis & Clark was on the verge of pushing their lead to 40 points as freshman Steven Keene hit back-to-back field goals to go up by 37. Jones hit a layup with two minutes left to extend the lead to 39; then senior Roderick O'Neal sank two free throws at 1:30 for a 93-54 advantage. Hodgson IV gave the Pioneers their largest game lead, though, as he hit a three-pointer off a pass from Jones with 53 seconds before the final horn.
